Hi guys!
So if you recall, back on January 1st, I began my journaling adventure with three different types of journals that ask prompts/questions. I wanted to do this so I could see what I have learned or have yet to learn about myself and wanted to give you an update on my thoughts about journaling.
I researched many journals on Amazon that I would be interested in and the ones below were my top 3 picks. All questions/prompts in each of these journals asks about the past, present, future, passions, goals, regrets, fears and has analogies about topics such as happiness, pursuit, etc. that allow for personal reflection. The entries I choose are the ones I feel comfortable sharing with you!
One Question a Day
One Question a Day ($13) is a 5-year journal thats asks, well, one question a day, LOL! It is aimed to be “a personal time capsule of questions and answers.”
I find this to be the most enjoyable out of the three journals because every single question is different and simple, even your answer has to be precise with how many lines you are given to write on! What is also nice is as I go through my 5-year journey, I can reflect on what I wrote on a certain day/year. It also has a red ribbon bookmark that comes with it!
Below are some of my favorite ones I have answered so far.
Soul Therapy
Soul Therapy ($19.95) is “a 365 day journal for self-exploration, healing and reflection.”
This is my second favorite journal and has a lot more writing room for you to reflect! Some of the prompts/questions also have quotes before them that let you really think about how to answer the question.
Below are some of my favorite ones I have answered so far.
Start Where You Are
Start Where You Are ($9.56) is “a journal for self-exploration.” The difference between this once versus the other two journals is it is very artistic and allows you to color/draw aside from answering prompts/questions. It also only lasts for 2 months, so I was able to finish it!
The con to this one is I feel like it is repeating the same types of questions (e.g., goals, passions, fears, aspirations) and I feel like I keep writing the same ones down. Again, the coloring/drawing aspect was the most appealing aspect to this journal along with the artistic quote on the page before!

So if I had to find one con to journaling is that if a question isn’t unique enough, I find myself sometimes answering the same way as I did on another day. I also have the type of personality where I am a huge end goal girl and I have accomplished most of my goals in my life! Some of my goals are always ongoing: traveling, freelancing, if I ever buy another car, etc. If I had to identify what big goals I want to accomplish left, it’s buying a piece of property, having a dog (that’s closer toward retirement, I definitely can’t have one right now!), obtaining my WSET and California Wine Specialist certifications, and possibly moving out of California when I get toward retirement.
I will do another update after I finish the remaining two journals this year but most likely on a social media post! Stay tuned! 🙂
Also, if you have tried journaling before, what did you learn about yourself or what was your favorite part?
