Bonjour, guys!
I wanted to take a quick holiday trip to Quebéc City, Canada to check out their German Christmas Market! I have always been fascinated by them and wanted to see the best one in all of the providences.
I also haven’t been in a winter environment in almost 10 years so I was excited to wear sweaters and be in a different climate.
Let’s fly! 🙂

Day 1 – Monday, November 17
My 7:45am flight out of LAX was delayed 1 hour and 10 minutes due to a mechanical issue on the Air Canada plane to Toronto. There was also a medical emergency 2 hours left on the flight and it caused a 20 minute delay at the gate once we landed.
My flight to Quebéc City got moved to 9pm. That was also delayed 1 hour and 30 minutes because they had the wrong plane parked at the gate…oy!

I ended up getting into Quebéc City at 12am and to my Airbnb by 1am. I slept in the next day because I was so tired from all the travel hiccups!

Day 2 – Tuesday, November 18
My first stop when I woke up for the day was to Montmorency Falls, which is 272 feet high and is 98 feet taller than Niagara Falls. I was also able to ride the gondola. The park is open year round and it was magnificent to see!

Next I headed to check out out the Observatoire de la Capitale ($14.95) that oversees Quebéc City. The observatory is 721 feet high and located on the 31st floor in the Marie-Guyart building.
There are also video projections and vignettes that feature history about Quebéc City.

I then headed toward the Parliament. The 8 story structure is home to the National Assembly of Quebec and was built between 1877 and 1886. It’s a gorgeous building!

From there was a short walk to Old Québec. First thing I did was visit the Fairmont le Château Frontenac, an historic hotel that was built in 1892 and even hosted World War II conferences in 1942 and 1943.

World leaders and historical figures including King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, Theodore Roosevelt, Charles de Gaulle and Dwight Eisenhower have stayed here. It was so pretty seeing it all decked out for the holidays!

Day 3 – Wednesday, November 19
I slept in again and started my day at Eggsquis for some Eggs, Bacon, Fruit and a Ham and Swiss Crepe with Coffee. It was very filling!
My last stop of the day was at Birra & Basta, where I had Penne Pasta with sausage and asparagus, a glass of wine and an Irish coffee for dinner. I highly recommend coming here!

Day 4 – Thursday, November 20
I started the day with a Vanilla Latte and Breakfast Sandwich at Ma Station Cafe. It was delicious and all of the vanilla lattes I have had are amazing!

I later took a shower and headed out to Old Quebec to take the Funiculaire du Vieux-Québec railway ($6). The railway is at a 45 degree angle and is a direct link between Dufferin Terrace/Quartier Petit-Champlain and Place-Royale/Old Port.
You can also view the St. Lawrence River and Lower Town. I stopped by to do some more shopping!

Next I headed to Notre-Dame de Québec Basilica-Cathedral . The church was built in 1647 and was designated a Canada National Historic Site. It houses the tomb of Saint François de Laval, a large reliquary of Canada’s Saints and Blessed and is adorned by a Holy Door.

The highlight of my day (and the whole trip) was to the Le Marché de Noël allemand de Québec. The Christmas market has been operational since 2008 each holiday season and has more than 125 vendors, puppets, choirs, musicians and of course, Santa!
I ate so much sausage and gingerbread and drank a ton of mulled wine. It was so magical and fun!

Day 5 – Friday, November 21
This was my last full day in Québec City and I just wanted to relax. It was also snowing pretty hard, so I mainly stayed indoors.
I started the day with another Vanilla Latte and Croissant from Le Nektar as I watched the snow fall.

Afterwards, I worked on some social media reels and then prepared for dinner. It’s time for the “Last Meal” portion of the blog.
I ended up going to Chez Tao that featured Southeast Asian Food. I ordered a Rum Tiki Cocktail in a pineapple and some Pad See Ew. I haven’t had a Tiki drink in such a long time and it was pretty strong, LOL!
