Hi guys!
I took a short 2 day trip to Idyllwild, CA to be in a fall setting and just to have some relaxation.
According to the website, “Idyllwild-Pine Cove area is located in Southern California’s San Jacinto Mountains, which contain 10,804 foot high San Jacinto Peak, Southern California’s second highest mountain, after Mount San Gorgonio.
At an elevation of about 5,300 feet, Idyllwild lies mostly within a high mountain valley bisected by a small year-round stream, Strawberry Creek. Pine Cove occupies a ridgetop location nearly 1,000 feet higher than Idyllwild.”
To give you a better idea about where it’s located, on the eastern side of the mountain is Palm Springs. I have been to all of the mountain towns in Southern California and I would put Idyllwild at #3. I plan to do a full breakdown + rankings of all of the mountain towns in the future.
I stayed at the Fireside Inn, which has a rustic cabin feel to it. I also ate at Middle Ridge Winery, Idyllwild Brewpub, Mama’s Egg House and The Peak.
The highlights of the trip were visiting Lake Fulmor and Indian Vista Scenic Overlook.
There is also a ton of shopping, trails and arts and crafts to enjoy.
Below are some of the photos I took. Enjoy! 🙂
